Applied Positions

Graduation Directors: 

  • In charge of planning the graduation banquet, including managing:

    • All fundraising efforts including securing sponsorships and events (bake sales, bar nights, etc)

    • All venue decisions including place, food, presentations and DJ

    • All advertising and ticket selling efforts

  • Can hold office hours at the discretion of the executive team

  • Supervises Graduation Committee Members

  • Supervised by the President

 

Graduation Committee Members:

  • Assists Graduation Directors in planning and organizing the Civil and Environmental Graduation Banquet.

 

Geer Week Directors:  

  • Promotes and organizes Geer Week events such as:

    • Geer Week Video

    • Tug of War

    • Battle of the Bands

    • Design Competition

    • Keg Races, and many more.

  • Ensures that CEESS participants comply with Geer Week rules in preparation and during an event

  • Can hold office hours at the discretion of the executive team

  • Supervises Geer Week Committee Members

  • Supervised by VP Coordination

 

GEER Week Committee Member:

  • Assists Geer Week Directors organize submissions for Geer Week

  • Assists with the promotion of Geer Week and encouraging participation within the civil and environmental student body

 

Sports and Recreation Coordinator(s) (CEESS Intramural Unit Manager): 

  • Assists VP Communications in marketing and promoting intramural events

  • Assists students with putting teams together for various intramural sports and helping them find other students to fill their teams

  • Ensures that CEESS members interested in sports and recreation are able to sign up through IMLeagues

  • Attends all UAlberta Intramural Council meetings (once a month) and forwards any important information on to the students or relevant teams

    • The Intramural Council will require the 'Unit Manager' to become part of an intramural sporting committee (a decision making group within the Council).

  • Can hold office hours at the discretion of the executive team

  • Supervised by VP Coordination

Sustainability Coordinator:

  • Ensures the Club is acting in a sustainable manner

  • Conducts monthly sustainability audits of the Club and it’s activities  

  • Cares for the NREF trees (currently residing on DICE 2nd floor)

  • Brainstorms additional sustainability efforts the club could create or be involved with

  • Can hold office hours at the discretion of the executive team

  • Supervised by VP Coordination

 

CSCE Undergraduate Representative:

  • Represents undergraduate students on the executive committee of the CSCE Edmonton Section. These meetings are the last Thursday of every month. 

    • Stays informed about what the CEESS and the CSCE are planning and help coordinate between them

  • Attends and helps run the CSCE’s monthly dinner meeting.  

  • Helps the VP Technical coordinate with industry for CEESS events and sponsorship

  • Helps get students involved in the CSCE

  • Can hold office hours at the discretion of the executive team

  • Supervised by VP Technical

 

AVP Technical:

  • Brainstorms technical services or events the CEESS  could create or be involved with

  • Coordinates with VP Communications to advertise technical  events on social media platforms and email

  • Submits event applications to Student Group Services (SGS)

  • Books venues for events

  • Organizes food for events when required

  • Can hold office hours at the discretion of the executive team

  • Assists the VP Technical in their duties

 

AVP Student Life:

  • Brainstorms student life services or events the CEESS  could create or be involved with

  • Coordinates with VP Communications to advertise social events on social media platforms and email

  • Submits event applications to Student Group Services (SGS)

  • Books venues for events

  • Organizes food for events when required

  • Can hold office hours at the discretion of the executive team

  • Assists the VP Student Life in their duties
