The Election Forum offers students an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates about their platforms, priorities, and proposed initiatives for the upcoming term. Candidates will outline their goals, discuss the issues that matter most to the civil and environmental engineering community, and respond to questions from attendees. This forum is designed to help students gain a better understanding of each candidate’s vision and leadership approach before casting their vote.

This event is jointly organized by the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering (CSCE) and the Steel Centre at CEE, focused on Engineering Practice for Students and Early-Career Professionals.
The goal of this event is to provide practical, real-world insights into:

  • Job hunting strategies and career planning

  • Employer expectations

  • Transitioning from student life into professional engineering practice

  • Navigating the early stages of an engineering career

This is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from professionals and gain guidance that goes beyond the classroom—particularly helpful if you are actively exploring job opportunities or thinking about your next steps after graduation.

LEED Green Associate Certification Workshop

CEESS Defrost Water Resources Case Competition

The Defrost Water Resources Case Competition, hosted by the CEESS, invites students to challenge themselves in solving a realistic water resources engineering problem centered around ice engineering. In teams, students will ideate, develop, and present their solutions to a case provided on Friday, March 20th (due the next day). On Sunday, March 22nd, teams will present their solution in a preliminary round, and if successful, will move on to a final round.

 

The first-place team will win $500, the second-place team will win $300, and the third-place team will win $200, all in cash.

The event will have industry experts in water resources and ice engineering serving as judges for each round, and a networking portion for students to engage in meaningful discussions with the judges to wrap up the event.

There are limited spots available! Register early to secure your spot in the competition.
