Program: 3rd Year Civil Engineering

What made you join the CEESS?

I came in just to see if the lounge had a working microwave (we do)… and the rest is history.

Jokes aside, I was a Technical Events Director last year and met so many amazing people who now feel like family!!! Seeing everyone have fun at our events and working alongside such a passionate team reminds me why I love what we do in Technical. This year, my focus is on building a community where people want to stay year after year, because they feel supported, included, and part of something bigger, while also strengthening the bridge we have with both industry and academia.

Biggest engineering pet peeve?

Trying to use math notations but using them wrong.

Advice for civil engineering students (new or seniors)?

Talk to people! I know, I know, coming from the “talking” portfolio... I’ve learned so much and made incredible connections (including industry) just by putting myself out there. You never know how one conversation could turn into a big opportunity. If you’re hesitant, start with me; I’m always open for a chat!
